 The JEE Main online application window for April 2019 examination is opened today  (February 8, 2019). The candidates who wish to appear for the JEE Main April 2019 examination can apply for the same through the official website - jeemain.nic.in


The candidates need to register on the website filling the Online Application Form. The candidates should note down the system generated Application Number for future use. While filling the form, the candidates need to create a PASSWORD and choose Security Question and enter his/her Answer. The candidates can use the system generated Application Number and created Password for future logins. 


After filling the online application form, the candidates need to upload their scanned photograph and signature. The application fee can be paid through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/e-Challan.


he last date to apply for the JEE Main April 2019 examination is March 7, 2019. The last date to pay the application fee online is March 8, 2019, 11.50 PM.


The JEE Main April 2019 examination will be conducted for two papers - Paper 1 for BE/B.Tech admissions and Paper 2 for B.Arch/ B.Planning. The candidates can appear for with one paper or for both papers.


The JEE Main April 2019 examination will be held from April 6 to 20, 2019. The results of the examination will be announced by April 30, 2019.

  1. JEE Main online registration: 08.02.2019 to 07.03.2019 
  2. Fee payment deadline: 08.02.2019 to 08.03.2019 (11.30PM) 
  3. Dates of exam: Between 06.04.2019 (Sunday), to 20.04.2019 (Saturday)
  4. Result announcement: By 30th April 2019

About JEE Main 2019

Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main is the national level undergraduate engineering entrance exam. The entrance exam is the gateway for the admission to various B.Tech/B.E. programmes offered by 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 23 CFTIs. From 2019, JEE Main will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA), twice a year in computer-based mode only. Also, JEE Main is the qualifying test for JEE Advanced through which candidates can get admission to 23 IITs. JEE Main 2019 will be held for 2 papers where Paper-I is for B.Tech admissions and Paper-II for B.Arch admissions. States like Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Nagaland & some other institutions use JEE Main ranks for admissions; however, admission criteria for the mentioned states will be notified by the concerned state authorities only.

The new changes in JEE Main 2019 allow for candidates to appear twice for the entrance exam in a given year. The better of the two scores will be used for the purpose of ranking as per the regulations laid by the authorities.

JEE Main 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Before proceeding towards filling the application form, do refer and meet the mentioned below JEE Main 2019 eligibility criteria prescribed by the authorities: 

Age Criteria: NTA has removed the age limit. However, candidates need to pass 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2017, 2018 or should be appearing for the same in 2019 in irrespective of their birth date.

Qualifying Examinations: Must have passed class 12 or equivalent exam in 2017 or 2018. Also, candidates appearing for class 12 board examination in 2019 will be also eligible for JEE Main 2019.

Subjects to be Qualified in Qualifying Examination: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.

Qualifying Marks for Admission into IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs: Must score the minimum of 75% marks or should be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards. For candidates belonging to SC/ST category minimum scores required is  65%.  

For JEE Main Paper-II- Candidates seeking admission to the architecture course must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination. No Diploma holder is eligible for the entrance exam.

JEE Main 2019 Exam Pattern

JEE MAIN PAPER 1

Given below is exam pattern of JEE Main 2019 Paper-I held for B.Tech course:

Mode of Examination: Computer-Based Test

Examination Duration: 3 Hours 

Number of Shifts: Paper-I will be held in two shifts per day (9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm)

Sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

Number of Questions in Sections: Physics-30, Chemistry-30 and Mathematics-30

Marking Scheme: Every correct answer will be awarded 4 marks while for incorrect response1 mark will be deducted. 


JEE MAIN PAPER 2

Given below is exam pattern of JEE Main 2019 of Paper-II for B.Arch course:

Mode of Exam- Mathematics and Aptitude Test was held partially in computer-based test mode, while the drawing exam will be in offline (pen and paper based) mode

Duration of Examination- 3 Hours

Number of Shit-  Paper-2 was held in two shift

Sections- Mathematics, General Aptitude, Drawing Skills

Type of Questions- Objective questions in Mathematics and Aptitude. While drawing test will assess drawing and sketching abilities.

Number of Questions in Each Section: Aptitude – 50, Mathematics – 30 and Drawing - 3

Marking Scheme: Every correct answer will fetch 4 marks, whereas 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. In case of drawing questions, it will be of total 70 marks. The marks for each question will be mentioned along with it.

JEE Main 2019 Admit Card

 JEE Main Admit Card 2019 will be available in online mode from March 18. The details like name, exam centre address, admit card number, roll number, timing of examination, paper appearing for, gender and more will be displayed on the admit card of JEE Main 2019. 

How to download the JEE Main 2019 admit card?

Candidates can download the JEE  Main admit card by two methods:

  • Using their Application Number and Password
  • Using their  Application Number and Date of Birth

However, before downloading the admit card candidates must check all the information furnished on it.  JEE Main 2019 admit card is an important document. Without admit card of JEE Main 2019 candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. 

What to carry to the exam hall along with the admit card?

  • A valid photo id proof (College/ School ID Card, Driving License, Passport) to the exam centre.
  • A passport size photograph (same as in application form)
  • PwD certificate if applicable

Documents Required at Exam

  • JEE Main 2019 admit card
  • A valid photo ID (Passport, College/School ID Card, Driving License)
  • One passport size photograph (to be pasted on attendance sheet). Make sure, photograph is identical to the one uploaded during filling of the application form
  • PwD category candidates will have to carry a copy of the PwD certificate in the prescribed format.

JEE Main 2019 Counselling

Mode of Counselling: Online

The counselling and seat allotment procedure for JEE Main 2019 will be conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority ( JoSAA). All the qualified candidates will have to register themselves for JoSAA counselling in online mode. The counselling will be based on candidate’s merit, availability of seats and preference of choices. Before commencement of actual JoSAA round, two mock seat allotment rounds will be conducted by the authorities so that candidates can know about their chances in their desired institute. After the mock rounds, seven main rounds of seat allotment will be held.
